According to the American Association of Community Colleges' Fast Facts 2018,
more than 12 million students are enrolled at community colleges. The 1,103
community colleges in the U.S. play a vital role in higher education for American
students. Women comprise 56 percent of the enrollment, while men make up 44
percent; 51 percent are under age 21, 39 percent are ages 22 to 39, and 10 percent
are 40+ in age.
APPA's Community College Engagement Group (CCEG) seeks to identify unique
challenges and needs of community college facilities professionals; bolster partici-
pation and value of existing APPA programs and services; share best practices;
and expand networking opportunities.
Co-chaired by J.B. Messer of the Community College of Allegheny County (PA)
and Mike Posey of Pima Community College (AZ), the CCEG welcomes partici-
