About ARDMS APCA and the RPVI Certification What Does This Mean for Me? Beginning in June 2016 The APCA community and website will formally launch. All physicians affiliated with ARDMS will transition to the APCA where you will continue to receive outstanding customer care and management of your Maintenance of Certification programs. This transition includes both the Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation ® (RPVI) and Registered in Musculoskeletal ™ Sonography (RMSK) credentials. The APCA will also serve physicians who hold RDMS, RDCS, RVT and RMSKS sonographer credentials. Your Maintenance of Certification program, which includes the annual renewal fee and CME Audit program, will now be managed by APCA. Applications for the RPVI (opening June 22, 2016) and RMSK (opening July 27, 2016) credentialing examinations will be managed through the new APCA website. The application process and current prerequisite requirements will be available on APCA.org. A new personal portal, similar to MY ARDMS, will be launched as part of the new APCA website. This secure portal will become your new resource for information on your certifications, applications, payments. The APCA governance Council led by physician volunteers will oversee the RPVI and RMSK physician credentials. Additionally, the APCA Council will identify new areas of practice which would benefit from assessment programs. Visit APCA.org to learn more. New Organizational Structure The ARDMS ® is evolving its organizational structure to better meet the needs of sonographers, physicians and advanced care providers. The ARDMS is recommitting to solely representing the sonographer community. The new Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement ™ (APCA ™ ) will exclusively serve the physician community as a companion to the ARDMS. Finally, the ARDMS is introducing a new umbrella organization, Inteleos ™ , to oversee both the ARDMS and APCA and explore certification opportunities for a wide array of advanced care providers. This new structure will be implemented by June 2016. To discover what this exciting news means for you, visit ARDMS.org/2016NewStructure.
