About ARDMS and APCA Certifications About This Guide This guide provides quick-reference application information for the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) examinations for the RDMS, RDCS, RVT and RMSKS certifications. Application information for the RPVI and RMSK certification examinations may be found in their respective brochures. New Organizational Structure The ARDMS ® is evolving its organizational structure to better meet the needs of sonographers, physicians and advanced care providers. The ARDMS is recommitting to solely represent the sonographer community. The new Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement ™ (APCA ™ ) will exclusively serve the physician community as a companion to the ARDMS. Finally, the ARDMS is introducing a new umbrella organization, Inteleos ™ , to oversee both the ARDMS and APCA and explore certification opportunities for a wide array of advanced care providers.
