Winter 2016–2017 — The Reporter 3 Message from the International Justice 1 Cliff Schechter's full quote, "Phi Alpha Delta is not the best because we are the biggest, We are the biggest because we are the best." "What an honor it is to serve as your International Justice for the 2016–2018 biennium. My Phi Alpha Delta story starts just shy of twenty years ago. Intrigued by the Phi Alpha Delta mission, and after being personally invited to join, I had no idea at that moment the monumental impact that fraternity would have on my life. Today, I cannot imagine my life without Phi Alpha Delta. Frequently I am asked, "What has kept you so involved over the years?" The answer, "It is the people, the work we do, our mission, our value and, at the core, fraternalism." Fraternalism is the intangible factor that makes P.A.D. unique and keeps our bond strong. During the days of the 61st Biennial Convention, the fraternal spirit has been soaring high. Capture that spirit and take it back to your chapters and share it, so others may know what makes Phi Alpha Delta so unique. As we look forward into the next biennium, there is much work to be done to keep the flame of Phi Alpha Delta burning bright. The focus of much of our work during this next biennium will be on leadership development, programming, the fraternity's long- term financial health, and fraternalism. We must ensure that Phi Alpha Delta always remains a place with rewarding opportunities for members who want to serve. We need to make sure all members always feel part of this great fraternity. To you, the delegates of the 61st Biennial Convention, I thank you for your hard work and fraternalism during these past several days. I challenge you to return to the 62nd Biennial Convention in 2018 and bring a brother or sister with you. I look forward to the amazing things that all of you will do in Phi Alpha Delta in the coming month and years. I look forward to working with the new elected members of the International Executive Board, the International Tribunal, the Executive Office, the P.A.D. International Foundation, International Advisory Board, and most importantly working with all of you in realizing the amazing potential that lies ahead for this fraternity. At the 1998 Convention, then International Justice Cliff Schechter said, "... Phi Alpha Delta is the biggest because we are the best." 1 Those words are as true today as they were then. Our Future looks bright! Here's to Phi Alpha Delta Here's to the Purple and the Gold Where friendships are always warmest And hearts are never cold It's a Fraternity of Friendship It will never lose its hold SO SING FOR PHILOS ADELPHOS AND THE PURPLE AND THE GOLD" K a t h l e e n M a l o n e y r e c e i v e d h e r B .
