16 The Reporter — Issue #2, 2017 P.A.D. Take the Pledge 2018 Is On the Move! By John F. Weitkamp (TTP Committee Chair, Ford Chapter) Because of the success of P.A.D.'s Take The Pledge Program for the 2016 Convention, the International Executive Board approved extending the Program for our 2018 Convention. TTP2018 took off at our 2016 Convention and the number of pledges to PADCON2018 continues to grow. As of this writing, we have 923 pledges from sisters and brothers to attend o u r 6 2 n d B i e n n i a l C o n v e n t i o n — m o s t of which were made BEFORE the location o f t h e C o n v e n t i o n had been determined by the International E x e c u t i v e B o a r d . I expect that we will exceed 1,000 pledges by the end of the current District Conference season. PADCON2018 will take place at the Hyatt Regency Lexington, Kentucky from August 8-11, 2018. Our goal is to field a 2018 Convention attendance of at least 500, which would significantly exceed our 2016 Convention attendance of 402. If you wish to "Take The Pledge" to attend PADCON2018, simply go to the Facebook group "2018 P.A.D. Take The Pledge Group" and request to join. Or you can email jweitkamp@aol.com. Registrations for our 2018 Convention have been accepted since earlier in this year. 158 sisters, brothers, and guests have already completed and filed their P.A.D. registration applications—a full year or more before PADCON2018. Registration for our 62nd Biennial Convention is a two-part process: 1) complete and file the P.A.D. registration form at emily@pad.org; and 2) reserve your room directly with the Hyatt Regency Lexington Kentucky. The links for both registrations may be accessed through w w w . p a d . o r g / e v e n t s / convention2018. I t s h o u l d b e n o t e d t h a t t h a n k s to the generosity of o u r m e m b e r s a n d some of our P.A.D. partners, there will b e 1 0 5 C o n v e n t i o n grants and scholarships available to assist some of our sisters and brothers in attending Convention—an all-time record. Our donors to the P.A.D. Convention Recognition Program will be recognized at Convention. If you would like to be a donor, a contribution of $25 or more to the P.A.D. International Foundation will secure your place: www.pad. org/foundation. Thanks to all of our sisters and brothers who continue to embrace our Take The Pledge Program.
